A: Roller Blinds and Vertical Blinds: Vacuum very carefully with a very soft brush attachment or us a duster (preferably wool). Use a clean damp cloth to wipe any severe soiling from the blind.
Timber Venetians and Shutters: Dust with a duster, or the occasional light vacuuming with a brush attachment should keep the blinds clean.
Cellular Blinds: Regular dusting can be done using a feather dusted. When necessary, fabric can be lightly vacuumed with a brush attachment. Do not use strong detergents or spot removers. Do not dry clean.
Roman Blinds: Vacuum with a soft brush attachment if necessary. Any marks may be removed with a clean eraser. Do not use strong detergents or spot removers. Do not dry clean.
Aluminium Blinds: Light vacuuming and dusting is recommended. Any severe soiling may be cleaned by using a damp cloth.
Outdoor Canvas Blinds:
To ensure a longer life of your outdoor blinds:
- Keep them rolled up only when they are dry and clean
- Use the pull down stick to operate the blinds from the centre
- Keep the blinds as clean as possible i.e. if you are mowing your lawn or cutting any shrubs, or cleaning the guttering, remember to pull your awning up.
- Do not leave your blinds partially retracted for long periods of time. Try and use them fully extended if using them for long periods.
To take care of your Outdoor Blinds:
- To remove any dirt, brush the fabric when dry with a soft brush. A damp cloth or light hosing may remove some dust or light dirt.
- Never scrub fabric.
- Remove immediately any organic matter (such as bird droppings, leaves, grass cuttings or soil).
- Remove any mildew, as it appears, by brushing with a soft brush first and the hosing off well and leaving the awning to dry out in the sun.
- Do not use soaps, detergents, solvents, liquid cleansers or strong bleaches.
